The mission of the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program is to promote the well-being of National Guard and Reserve members, their families and communities, by connecting them with resources throughout the deployment cycle. To maximize effectiveness of program events and resources, YRRP provides support to the Guard and Reserve Components through clear policy and guidance.

In 2010, the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program hosted its first training conference in Orlando, Florida. This "Good to GREAT" training brought together more than 600 Yellow Ribbon providers, planners and family support staff to identify best practices, challenges and opportunities within each National Guard and Reserve Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program.

The Yellow Ribbon Center for Excellence is designed to provide National Guard and Reserve support staff, program managers and event planners with the tools, briefings and documents they need to deliver tailored and dynamic information to Guard and Reserve members and loved ones at Yellow Ribbon events nationwide. The Yellow Ribbon Center for Excellence features event planning templates, sample agendas and industry resources to help National Guard and Reserve members with planning and hosting events.
