Through the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, National Guard and Reserve Component members and their loved ones have access to programs, resources, referrals, and services to minimize stress on families during all phases of deployment. The Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program consists of a series of events at key stages in the deployment cycle such as:
These specially tailored programs prepare National Guard and Reserve members and their families for all phases of deployment. Commanders and leaders play a critical role in assuring that Reserve Service members and their families attend Yellow Ribbon events where they can access information on health care, education/training opportunities, financial, and legal benefits. The Yellow Ribbon Program is aligned under the Family and Employer Programs and Policy Office within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. Each Reserve Component implements the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction 1342.28.
