Experiencing Deployment

[July 2021] This class examines common characteristics and feelings experienced by Service members and loved ones and considers strategies to help participants effectively navigate pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment transitions.

Just Breathe

[July 2021]This class presents breathing exercises as a tool to help manage stress. Participants will learn about the evidence-based benefits of using breathing exercises to support mental, physical, and overall well-being. Participants will also have opportunities to practice a few breathing techniques and leave with tips and resources to continue using the learned techniques at home.

Legal Considerations for Deployment

[Feb 2021]This class covers the importance of making sure legal documents are up-to-date and discusses Powers of Attorney (POA), wills, and the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA). These topics need to be addressed by Service members and their eligible family members as they prepare for deployment.

Meditation

[Dec 2020]This class explores meditation as a tool to help manage stress. Participants will learn about the evidence-informed benefits of meditation for the brain, body, and overall well-being. Participants will also have an opportunity to try a brief meditation practice, and they will leave with tips and resources to set up a home meditation practice.

Move the Body and Relax the Mind

[July 2021]

This class explores mind-body exercises as a tool to help manage stress. Participants will learn about the evidence-informed benefits of using exercises, including yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong, to help support mental, physical, and overall well-being. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice a few simple movements and leave with tips and resources to explore and to develop the practices discussed.

Reintegration: How I See It

[July 2021]In this class, participants will compare and contrast feelings commonly experienced by Service members, family members, and coworkers during reintegration and discuss tips to facilitate successful reintegration.

Renegotiating a New Normal after Deployment

[July 2021]This class covers the areas that need to be addressed when renegotiating a new normal after deployment and provides time for attendees to start developing a plan for successful reintegration.

Understanding and Reducing Anger

[July 2021]Participants will define anger and learn facts about anger, including what triggers anger and how to handle their anger in various situations. Using the Anger Episode Model as a tool for understanding anger, participants will discuss three skills to reduce and manage anger and examine positive and negative short-term and long-term outcomes, problem-solving techniques, and solutions.

Community Integration Resources

[December 2022]

This course explores state, local and federal resources that help Service members connect with their community during the transition from active duty to civilian life. Participants will also gain experience with the tools needed to locate and vet online resources.

Mental Health for Families

[December 2022]

This course explains how to identify local services and community organizations that can provide assistance and aid to service members and their loved ones.

Reserve Component Dual Payments

[October 2023]

This course provides an overview of drill pay, compensation eligibility, and options for handling dual payments.

This course provides an overview on VA and DoD survivor benefits and eligibility, and what to do in the event of a loss.

This course highlights VA benefits and services to include education, home loan guaranty, health care, and insurance and memorial benefits.

VA Education Benefits

This course provides information about Defense Department (DOD) and VA education benefits to include Post-9/11 benefits that may help Service members pay for or offset the cost of tuition, housing books and supplies.

VA Education Benefits for Spouses and Dependent Children

This course communicates relevant information about education benefits, including Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits, that can help families, and caregivers pay for tuition, housing, books, and supplies costs through the VA education and training benefits available to them.

This course offers a general overview of the VA Home Loan Guaranty Program including eligibility, processes, costs, and other available resources.
